Of Shallows & Depths - Introducing the Companion Books series

At The Line Atelier, we believe in the quiet luxury of reflection - the art of slowing down, of dwelling with beauty a little longer.

This philosophy has found its way into our newest venture: the Companion Books series.

The first in the series, Of Shallows & Depths, is now available.

It brings together Claude Monet`s paintings with impressionistic poems, each pair inviting a new way of seeing. Between them, we`ve left spaces for you - blank pages that wait for your thoughts, sketches, fragments, or reflections.

A Conversation Between Art & Words

Each spread is designed as a dialogue: Monet`s brushstrokes in conversation with a poem, and you as the third voice.

Sometimes the poems echo the colors and textures of the canvas:

Basking

        Baking

              Billowing

                      Blunt

        Wreath me in

                               Heat       

         tender and dull

         seep into my pores

Other times they pause for breath, opening a moment of vulnerability:

A moment

                please

A moment

                 for

                          thought

                 for

                           sensibility

                  if you would

                             indulge me

                                    have mercy on me

And sometimes they wander into unexpected terrain, transforming a rain-slick promenade into something surreal, mischievous, alive:

An Invitation to Companioning
